Company invited to speak on Utilization of Marine Resources for Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy, Vancouver, BC, in September 2008
West Orange, NJ (July 13, 2008)-- Strategro International has been selected to speak at the upcoming Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy starting September 10, 2008 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The international event, organized by the Biotech Industry Organization (BIO), brings together scientists, government officials, industry executives and investors from North America and throughout the Pacific Rim region to highlight recent advances within the industrial biotech space.

Steve Dillingham, Strategro Principal and Founder, will represent Strategro at the Summit and present examples of companies and clusters globally that are leading developments within the marine biotech industry. These findings will be compared against Dillingham’s interpretation of what the future likely holds for North America for the development of products stemming from the marine environment, and include thought-provoking perspective what can and must be done to facilitate and expedite better utilization of our marine resources utilizing marine biotechnology.

“The U.S. as a whole should be doing a much better collective effort utilizing its seafood byproduct waste to create value-added products,” stated Dillingham. “If you look how much activity is taking place with waste reclamation and conversion within the Bioenergy field as a result of the DOE funding, you can guess how impactful this sort of  “man on the moon” mission and funding support would be towards the seafood processing and byproduct industry --  not to mention the ecological and environmental benefits”, continued Dillingham.

The Industrial Biotech Summit will run for three days, and feature presentations on bio-energy, bio-based products, industrial biotechnology for drug discovery and production, novel applications of marine biotechnology, and nanotechnology
